I was introduced to Ayesha when I was the Volunteer Coordinator for Refugee Services of Texas. At the time she came on board as a volunteer, the agency had several refugee families with critical needs. One had a daughter with learning disabilities and the other, a family of four, husband, wife, daughter around age 4 and son about 16 months. Both parents were physically disabled. Ayesha with her social-worker-like abilities, went above and beyond to assist both of these families with love, care and networking resources which enabled these families to enhance their abilities to live happy, more successful independent lives in their new country. She is a polished professional with a heart of gold. It has been a real honor and pleasure to know her.

The LeaderKids program came to a successful finish in May 2016 with the implementation of our community service projects. As always, we built new relationships in the community and were amply guided and supported in making our ideas a reality. Thank you to our friends: Becca Smith and Lauren Cross at Tarrant Area Food Bank; Carlos Walker and Nakia Cole at the Historic Stop Six Initiative; Franklin Moss at The Center for Stop Six Heritage; Artists Raul Rodriguez and Jessica Fuentes of ACT; David Guerra with FWISD; Nakita Brewer, staff and students at Maudrie M.
